Student Enrollment Process

Documents Needed to Enroll for All Grades:

Hi Parents! Here are a few documents that are needed to fully enroll your child(s) at ALL TEACH Public School sites and all grades TK - 12th.

  • Birth Certificate

  • Immunization Records

  • Proof of Address (Gas/Electric/Water bill/Renters Agreement/Government Agency)

  • Parent or Guardian I.D

  • IEP or 504 Plan (if needed)

TK & Kinder:

Parents need to come into the TEACH Prep Elementary School campus to pick up their child(s) physical and dental check-up forms.

Transfer Students:

  • 10th - 12th-grade students need to have transcripts

Age Requirement for TK & Kinder:
Specific to Transitional Kindergarten (TK) enrollment, for the beginning of the 2026/27 school year, students who are born between September 2nd, 2021, and September 1st, 2022, can be admitted. Specific to Kindergarten (K) enrollment, for the beginning of the 2026/27 school year, students who are born between September 2nd, 2020, and September 1st, 2021 can be admitted.

First time U.S. enrollment:
Students enrolling in a U.S. school for the first time will be placed strictly based on the birthdate/grade level placement criteria.

TEACH Public Schools are tuition-free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public charter schools. Students are accepted regardless of background, academic record, or special education eligibility on a first-come, first-served basis. If more students apply than spaces are available, students are admitted by lottery.

For the 2026-2027 School Year, TEACH Public Schools will operate three schools in the following grades:

TEACH Public Schools are open to all students in California. Admission will be granted to students whose names are drawn in the lottery to be held the first week of March 2020 at 1846 W. Imperial Hwy. Los Angeles, CA 90047. All other applicants will be placed on a waiting list in the order their names are drawn. The waiting list will not carry over from year to year. Students who do not attend the school must fill out a new application in future years. If you have questions or need assistance completing an application, please call 323-872-0808.

TEACH Public Schools do not require a parent/legal guardian/student to provide information regarding a student’s disability, gender, gender identity, gender expression, nationality, legal or economic status, primary language or English Learner status, race or ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic that is contained in the definition of hate crimes set forth in section 422.55 of the Penal Code, or any other information that would violate federal or state law, prior to admission, participation in any admissions or attendance lottery, or pre-enrollment event or process, or as a condition of admission or enrollment.
